Colts Face Falcons in Berlin – Week 10 NFL Action
Hello, football enthusiasts. Wie gehts? Everything good I trust on this excellent morning kickoff to week 10 coming straight outta Germany. Berlin's Olympic Stadium to be precise where at 9:30 AM EST and 2:30 PM GMT the powerful Indianapolis Colts (7-2) face off against the Falcons (3-5). The fifth game played on soil in Germany and the initial in the nation’s capital.
Pre-match Highlights
As sparkly jackets go that is an real standout from Katarina Witt on the coin toss. A minor slip from the broadcast team there as we hear “which team got the coin flip?” from the presenter with an accidentally live microphone.
Well, the Colts have won the toss and have chosen to get the ball first. The Colts' offense will be taking the field soon. Can the quarterback recover after a difficult performance in their last game?
Not to be outdone the vocalist performing the US national anthem has some of the largest shoulder pads you are bound to notice. Loving the sartorial choices today. We are almost underway after a choir performance for the national anthem of Germany. Elegant.
Opening Period Action
Scoreless at 13:30 in the first
Here we go! And we have an exciting start after the Colts running back catches a screen pass, sweeps out for 15 yards to the right side then loses the ball … only for his center to recover the fumble with the ball retrieval. Colts are in Falcons territory already.
Colts 0-0 Falcons 10:51, 1st quarter
And the excitement continues as the Indianapolis attempts a fourth-down conversion. The gamble fails to pay off as Josh Downs fails to catch a fastball from the quarterback. On the play before the turnover on downs the Falcons defender put a massive tackle on the Colts' tight end. Atlanta's defense started strong as they try and snap their string of three losses. Following that, Sauce Gardner makes his first appearance!
Touchdown Recap
TOUCHDOWN! Colts 6-0 Falcons 8:36, 1st quarter
Did Kyle Pitts just drop a touchdown? The tight end drops a clanger, he was wide open but the ball just swishes through his hands. That play rather sums up the high draft pick's professional journey to date.
A disappointing start but it only gets worse for the Atlanta as they cough the ball back to the Colts on the 23-yard mark. The Falcons quarterback is hunted down and fumbles the football.
A nifty 22-yard run from Ashton Dulin sets Jonathan Taylor up to roll in for the score on the next snap. The placekicker skews the extra point wide. Mistake.
TOUCHDOWN! Colts 6-7 Falcons 6:07, 1st quarter
Penix Jr puts the fumble behind him by leading Atlanta on a long drive for a score of their own. The wide receiver makes some substantial catches to put them in the scoring area then the seas part for Tyler Allgeier to saunter on to the goal line through the heart of the field for a 13-yard gain. The running back finishes it off for a short scoring run of his own. Advantage Atlanta.
Additional Week 10 Games
Additionally, the full slate starting at 1 PM EST and 6 PM GMT (with home teams first) is as follows:
(5-4) Panthers v Saints (1-8)
(5-3) Bears v Giants (2-7)

(4-4) Minnesota Vikings v Baltimore Ravens (3-5)

An exciting lineup. I’m planting my flag on the Vikings and Ravens playing out the game of the day.
