This young athlete boasts impressive online following
Kai Trump can count on plenty of high-profile supporters when she starts her professional golf debut on Thursday.
The 18-year-old athlete, who is connected to Donald Trump, obtained a tournament invitation to participate at the Annika competition in Florida.
Her grandfather, an avid golfer, operates several courses worldwide and often plays against Kai.
"He's fairly competent. I shouldn't elaborate but we play tight competitions," she stated.
She mentioned that her grandfather, unable to come, advised her: "Just stay calm."
"My grandpa basically advised me to play and enjoy myself," she explained.
"To me, he's simply a regular grandfather. He's not attending this weekend. He's occupied with presidential duties, so he's quite busy."
As an amateur, the golfer has participated in just three tournaments in 2024 and holds position 461 in the American Junior Golf Association standings.
But she can seek guidance from Tiger Woods, romantically involved with her mother.
"He represents the top athlete worldwide," Kai expressed.
"And he's an even better human being. He advised me to go out there, have fun, following whatever happens."
She'll challenge multiple top competitors in professional golf at the competition, including world number two Nelly Korda, British golfer Hull, Lexi Thompson and 2023 champion Lilia Vu.
Officials commented that her participation brings golf to wider groups, especially reaching youth audiences.
Kai maintains millions of followers and just introduced her own clothing and lifestyle label.
The competition starts at 17:30 GMT.
