Two-time heavyweight champion Joshua Discharged from Hospital in Lagos Following Fatal Car Crash
Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, Nigerian authorities announced on Wednesday night. The 36-year-old was involved in a car accident in the Lagos area on Monday, a tragic incident that resulted in the deaths of two of his close associates.
Recovering from Minor Injuries
The boxer had remained in the hospital while recuperating from non-critical injuries, representatives had said on Monday. The Lagos state commissioner for information, Gbenga Omotoso, said in a statement online that Joshua was judged healthy enough to “recuperate at home”.
“Joshua and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two deceased friends as they were being prepared for repatriation,” the commissioner stated.
A Tribute to the Fallen
The victims of the crash were identified as Latif Ayodele, a fitness coach, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. Omotoso added that the champion was filled with sorrow and full of emotions over the tragic loss of his two trusted companions.”
